Carol’s Hidden-Corner Hunt

Go outside with a grown-up and look for safe, hidden places where a tiny bird might find food or shelter. Look near shrubs, flowerpots, brush piles, low branches, and creekside plants. Do not reach into holes or move anything without a grown-up checking first. Draw one hidden spot Carol might use. Add a bug, a leaf, and a safe path for Carol to move through the yard. Think About It: What makes a hiding place useful for a small bird: food, cover, quiet, or all three? Grandma’s reminder: “Carol may be little, but she has a song large enough to fill the whole porch.”
